Zimmerman Taken Into Jail
After a judge revoked his bail on Friday, George Zimmerman had to meet with police in central Florida to be taken back into custody. The judge claimed that Zimmerman lied to the court about the finances he had available. Zimmerman will be housed in administrative confinement for his actions in the Trayvon Martin case. Police said that Zimmerman was quiet and cooperative about being taken back into custody. Zimmerman bought $500 worth of items from the commissary. Zimmerman said the only thing he was worried about was coming out of hiding and going back into public scrutiny. Zimmerman is being held without bail.
Voters Rally in Wisconsin
The state of
Wisconsin has been critically split over its governor since Scott
Walker took office in early March of 2011. The "feud" in the state
started when Governor Walker passed bills that limited raises for public
employees among other things. The result was somewhat of a civil war within the
state. Many people have organized efforts to support the Governor in the recall
efforts and others have done their best to tear him down. Many people think
that the economic future of Wisconsin depends on the results of the recall
election. This is the cause of many political tours around the State
that has generated a lot of excitement around the election.
Missing Suspect in Shooting
A man opened fire in a food court in a Toronto, Canada mall. The man killed one person and injured seven others. This man is still on the loose and police have not issued a description of the man at this time. The police do however think they have identified the shooter because of the victim of the shooting. The police do not want to release a description because they think it is important to receive opinion from the public and not base their suspect off of relation. The police are fairly sure that the shooting was gang related because all casualties were known gang members besides one 13 year old boy who was in critical condition.

Bear Eats Killers Corpse
In a forest in Canada the dismembered body of murder Rory Nelson was found. However there was a catch. The reason for his condition was a bear. Authorities believe that the murderer was out for a drive when he died in his 1986 Volkswagen Jetta. He may have laid there for some time when a black bear came across him, broke into the car, and drug his corpse into the woods where he ate parts of him and left the rest of him lay. Police have gathered this information because of animal prints on the driver's side and many scratches. Wagner was charged for the 1993 killing of a man he thought had sexually assaulted one of his relatives.

New Details About Amelia Earhart uncovered
A group of researchers called the International Group For Historic Aircraft Recovery had been looking into the disappearance of Amelia Earhart when they found some clues that may solve one of America's most famous mysteries. When going through radio transmissions that were originally dismissed, the group realized that they were calls for help from Earhart right before she disappeared on her famous attempt to fly around the world. This was part of a conference dedicated to the search and recovery of the wreckage of her plane and the search for her remains. The group calls this new evidence " the smoking gun that was swept under the rug"

Marvel's First Gay Superhero is Getting Married
In a comic set to come out next week, One of Marvel's superheroes is going to get married. However there is an unusual twist for comic books, in that thhe superhero, Northstar, is gay. Marvel was the first major comic book company to have an openly gay superhero fetaured in some of its comics. Northstar was a strong comic for Marvel throughout the 80's and 90's but his sales dropped drasticly after it was revealed that he was gay. Marvel is using this character to promote AIDS and mental health awareness, as these issues have been blended into the story of Northstar. When asked his opinion on the comic slated to come out Conor Kilpatrick said, "(I) believe the issue is a perfect fit for Marvel: The X-Men have been, from the beginning, an allegory for civil rights, so it makes sense that in a time when gay rights is such a front-burner issue in American society that Marvel Comics would face it head-on with their X-Men characters.” The new comic is certain to have a lot of media and fan attention surrounding it.

Winners and Losers in the Real Life Game of Asteroids
It was 65.5 years ago when the dinosaurs lost to the asteroids in the game of life. The story goes that an asteroid that was 6 miles across impacted the earth and left a dark cloud of debris over the earth that cooled temperatures and caused the dinosaurs to become extinct. However scientists think that there may have been a different explanation as to why these dinosaurs died out. Scientists have found that the Hadrosauridae family of dinosaurs were already on their way to extinction before the large asteroid hit the earth. This includes the famous duck billed dinosaurs and the triceratops. So, unlike before, the asteroid impact may not have wiped out all of the dinosaurs equally, but some dinos may have been weakened already, while others may have lived longer after the impact.

Raffi Torres Hit on Blackhawks Legend Marian Hossa
During last night's Game 3, the tense game between the Phoenex Coyotes and the Chicago Blacks became an all out brawl. Raffi Torres, a player known for his dirty checks, blindsided Winger Marian Hossa, leaving his feet while checking and also checked crossways. Rules have been put in place to try and inhibit checks like these, because they are notorious for causing serious injury. In this case, Torres's shoulder hit Hossa in the jaw, and caused him to fly backward and hit his head on the ice. Hossa remained mostly motionless on the ice and play was stopped immediately. Hossa was then put onto a backboard and taken off the ice no more than a few seconds after the hit. Even though there was no penalty called, a hefty fine and suspension will be in place for Torres, as he has been known for his grudge with the Chicago and even had a similar incident last year when he took out defenseman Brent Seabrook for 2 games. The game turned into an all out brawl when some of the Blackhawks players heard others laughing at Hossa being taken off on a backboard. The ensuing scrum lasted five minutes and many players dropped the helmets and gloves to settle their differences. Games 4-7 definitely will be exciting now.

Local Boy Finds Lottery Ticket in Back yard
16 year old David Reinhardt of Fish Creek Wisconsin, found one of the missing Megamillions tickets in his back yard after returning from a trip to Florida. The teen said that the ticket must have blown away from its original owner in Illinois, and that it was just by chance that it ended up in his yard. Some officials have been speculating that Reinhardt built a ticket catcher when he heard that the ticket was on the loose, however he claimed to in Florida at the time. The investigation will continue and Reinhardt could face up to a year in jail for tampering with inter-state lottery results. The Megamillions people have decided to allow Reinhardt to keep his share of the 670 million dollar purse. When asked what he was going to do with the money he replied "well, I have a pool, a boat, and a plenty of recreational vehicles, I have pretty much everything I could want so I probably will share some of it with my less fortunate friends, then donate the rest to charity." Either way it looks to be a good time to get to know the one they call Front Row Dave Reinhardt.

NFL Hands Down Saints Penalties
After the original scandal in which it came to the attention of NFL officials that the Saints front office put bounties on the heads of many of the NFL's most famous and crucial players, the NFL has finally released the punishments that their team must face. The team's defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely from the league. This is one of the most harsh punishments that the NFL has ever handed out. Sean Payton, the head coach, also has been suspended from the team for a year in which he is not able to have any contact with the team's office or its players. Many wonder how the Saints will do in next years season as Sean Payton no doubt has a major effect on the team's performance. The team was also fined 5 Million Dollars. The cash bounties that were offered to injure such players as Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre, not only violated the league's rules on saftey, but also put th team past its salary cap. For now, the comissioner of the NFL has yet to hand out the punishments for the 22-27 players involved, but these most likely will be some of the most severe the league has ever seen when such marquis players like Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton are involved.

Washington Monument Shrinking
During a recent inspection of the Washington Monument, officials realized that last year's earthquake may have done more than some cosmetic damage. NGS surveyors noticed that the monument had sunk into the ground by two millimeters and shifted to one side. The monument was completed in 1884 and the obelisk has sunk 2 inches into the ground since its completion. The monument has been closed to the public since last year's 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit the Washington D.C. region. However, Surveyors think that the earthquake may have only caused 1mm of loss while the rest is do to the monument's natural sinking. 7.5 million dollars was donated by the Carlyle Group for the repairs of the monument to begin.

Drug Testing on Soldiers During Vietnam War
During the late 1960's some soldiers arrived to a surprise at their bases. When they were expecting to see your typical base when they arrived they saw something that looked more like a hospital. The Army took advantage of the fact that most of these medical centers were close to the soldiers home and offered them weekends at their home, an offer that many soldiers would take. The soldiers however, were not informed on what their assignment was truthfully going to be. They were told that they were going to be testing special new field jackets and weapons but drugs were never mentioned. One soldier arrived and decided that his paperwork was not affiliated with what his assignment was supposed to be. The personell were also wearing lab coats. The soldiers were told that they had volunteered, that if they tried to get out of it they would go to jail, and that they were going to Vietnam either way. It turns out that these soldiers were testing potentially lethal nerve gasses, incapitating agents, narcotics and LSD for war purposes. Many of these soldiers left the camps with addictions to these drugs and attained health problems like Parkinson's disease that would plauge them for the rest of their lives. Many of these soldiers are now suing the VA for these actions.

Fatal Bombings in Afghanistan
A suicide bombing attempt at an airfield in Kabul,Afghanistan, has left 9 people dead and 12 people wounded. This bombing is in response to NATO troops burning Qurans in front of Afghanis last week. This airfield is very close to the entrance to the NATO controlled International Security Assistance Force base, however no NATO troops were injured. The Qurans were taken from a detainee facility and were not meant to be burned. President Obama publicly apologized for the error. The Afghan president issued a statement saying the actions were inhumane and said that NATO was an enemy that was going to earn nothing but public hatred.
America in an oil boom....Gas prices continue to rise...
Despite the United States being in one of the largest oil booms in its history, gas prices have increased by 10% over the last month bringing the national average to almost 4 dollars. However, this oil boom may have more of an effect than you think. If the United States opened all of its land despite national parks up to drilling, the nation's dependency on foreign oil, while creating 1.4 million jobs and 800 million in revenue. Our executives at oil companies say that this is a chance that we as a nation need to take unless we want to get used to the price of gasoline. With tensions in Iran seeming to be on the verge of a war, Americans may get used to the sight of more oil rigs in places they didn't used to see.

Aerosole Caffiene.... More Dangerous Than You'd Think?
A new product that has been introduced in the convenience markets of Boston and New York is stirring up some controversy amongst the food and drug administration. The new product is called AeroShot and is a bullet sized container of powdered Vitamin B and Caffeine that you allow to dissolve on your tongue, and then is swallowed for an extra boost of energy. Many government officials are concerned that this product will make it into the college consumer's hands and become a tool to allow them to drink more which could potentially be very dangerous. However this new product only contains about as much caffeine as a large Starbucks coffee, so many officials aren't concerned over Aeroshots, but others think that there are too many questions that have not been answered about this product, as it is the first of its kind. Yet, this product could be the first since 2004 to be banned from sale.

Cruise Ship Captian in Trouble
The captian of the cruise ship that collided with rocks and high sided in Italy announced in court that he made a mistake when the accident happened. In a tapped phone conversation he said to a friend that it was not an accident however, and that he was pressured by officials to steer the boat into the area of the collision. The captain has faced a lot of scrutiny for his behavior regaurding what happened on that day. He faces charges of manslaughter, abandoning ship, and shipwreck. He has faced the most judgement by other captains for abandoning his own ship when it struck the rocks and rolled onto its side. It was also found that he was going 15 knots at the time in which he hit the rocks, which some people think was well too fast for the dangerous area that he was going into. The captain is in serious trouble for the endangerment of 4,000 that he caused by his careless operation of the ship he was piloting.

Braun to Accept MVP Despite Steroid Scandal
In a recent interview, Ryan Braun announced that he is still planning on accepting his MLB MVP award despite his pending 50 game suspension for testing positive for high levels of synthetic testosterone. When his agent was questioned on whether or not Braun would appear or accept the award the agent responded with "he will be there to accept the award." As a part of the award ceremony Braun is scheduled to give an acceptance speech for obtaining this award. This speech may be an opportunity for Braun to voice his opinion about the accusations, as he has been known to be very clear on his opinion of the suspension stating that it was "B.S." in an interview with ESPN. Even though the league has decided not to strip him of his title, this weekend's ceremonies should be interesting for fans of Ryan Braun.
